Shreveport is an interesting and fun city with plenty of cultures, history and art. With its beautiful architecture, riverfront dining, diverse shopping and engaging attractions, Shreveport is a perfect destination to explore. Most of the travelers visit Shreveport for about 3 to 4 days to enjoy the attractions. However, what if you don’t have more than a day in Shreveport? Fret not, we bring to you the perfect things to see and do in this port city while you’re visiting the city on a tight time schedule.

9:00am- Breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe!

10:00am- Admire the art at  R.W. Norton Art Gallery!

A 2 minute walk from the Another Broken Egg Cafe will take you to the R.W. Norton Art Galley which features European and American art spanning four centuries. It houses the permanent collection of American western art. In addition, there are over 400 paintings, sculptures and other pieces of art from various time periods and from all over the world. 

Wind you way through the Norton Art Gallery grounds and take a leisurely stroll in the beautiful flower garden which comes alive in spring season. Plenty of azaleas come into bloom during spring. From Native American art to the natural beauty of flower, everything is expressed in the works on display!

11:00am-Some more art at Meadows Museum of Art!

Experience the varied culture in the world through the lens of art at Meadows Museum of Art. The museum features art pieces dating back to the 1800s as well as art by German Expressionist George Grosz, American Impressionist Alfred Maurer, French artist Jean Despujols- the Indochina collection, and more.

12:00pm- Explore the adventures of science at Sci-Port Louisiana's Science Center!

Venture to the interesting Sci-Port Louisiana’s Science Center that offers educational and fun for people of all ages.  It has hands-on exhibits on science, space, math and technology. The center also has IMAX Dome Theatre, laser Space Dome Planetarium, a cafe and a gift shop.

2:00pm- Tour the Spring Street Historical Museum!

Stop by the Spring Street Historic Museum that takes you back in time. It tells you how life in Shreveport back in 1800s through interesting exhibits and artifacts like vintage clothing, firearms, old maps and more.

3:00pm- Take a tour of Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium!

Take a backstage music tour of Shreveport’s historic performing arts venue- Municipal Memorial Auditorium. Hear the songs of the music legends that have graced the stage of the auditorium. Step out on the stage where legends like James Burton and Elvis Presley performed. Know the stories of the music legends and see the photos, personal items, musical instruments and memorabilia of the Louisiana Hayride- a radio show broadcast from the late 1940s to the early 70s at the Stage of Stars and Legends Museum at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

4:00pm- Discover Louisiana’s archaeological  and cultural past and present at Louisiana State Exhibit Museum!

Make the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum your next stop. The museum features 18 well-known dioramas, an Indian Gallery, a Native American dugout, rotating exhibits, murals reflecting the Louisiana life, and art pieces of prehistoric period. Dig into the culture and history of Louisiana, and discover the past and present.
